Alex Bevard and Ryan Mcfarland left FL the Wednesday before the Zap Pro/Am World Championship of Skimboarding and drove through Hurricane Debbie to get mke it up to Dewey Beach, DE. It took a bit longer than normal to get up to Delaware due to the high winds and low visibility on the highway. We got into Dewey at about 4am on Thursday and when the sun rose, we began the search to find some waves. We didn't have much luck finding any clean swell but Ryan decided to get in for a quick session before sundown.
The first day of the event started off with a beautiful sunrise and calmer conditions. We had some groms demo the Edge, the Glide and our new Rip soft tops. They were stoked!
Saturday and Sunday were a blur, just like any good skim contest. The days were long and the waves were fun. We had a ton of traffic at the WZ Tent. We did more demos and gave out all of our promo gear that we brought for the event. Good times were had indeed!
